A healthy body, A healthy mind
Government Model High School, Stok, established in 1939 in the Leh district of Ladakh, is a co-educational secondary school providing education from primary levels up to Class 10 with English as the medium of instruction. Managed by the Department of Education, UT Ladakh, and led by Headmaster Sh. Padma Tsering, the school achieved a major milestone when it was upgraded to the Ladakh Model School Stok on December 4, 2025, bringing modern learning facilities to the local community.
The school is highly regarded for its innovative pedagogy, actively practicing the 'Village as School' concept to integrate local culture into education. Through strategic collaborations with organizations like Save the Children and the TVS Srinivasan Services Trust, the institution effectively implements NEP 2020 frameworks and peace education. Additionally, to overcome high-altitude logistical challenges, a child-friendly school bus was inaugurated in September 2026 to ensure a safe daily commute for students from remote areas like Upper Stok.
